There are valid reasons for security surveillance. Individuals seeking explosives, weapons, and ammunition to use against civilian populations in which they reside - require surveillance.
The demographic of wannabees presents as Muslim males. Some of them are native born in the U.S. and some are immigrants. We cannot change the demographic of the wannabees. The demographic must change their view of the Western world and their place in society.
Until that happens, surveillance remains a necessary safety mechanism. The innocent may feel swept into the net with the guilty. But only the guilty, need fear being pulled out of the net and dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
If tomorrow, Baptist grandmothers begin to light up the landscape with explosives hidden in their famous mile-high meringue pies, they will join the wannabe demographic. But again and again, the identifying factors remain the same. Until the root is dealt with the fruit will be pruned off the vine. For all of us. For our children. For the sake of America.
